RMS for Girls
RMS is a leading provider of innovative, high quality, bespoke girls’ education. Founded in 1788, RMS is situated in 300+ acres of parkland, a truly unique environment where each pupil is encouraged to write their own individual story.
RMS for Girls Senior School: Every Pupil Thrives
Our pupils are each distinctive and talented. We know them well and we learn how best to support them, challenge them and develop their specific talents, interests and potential. As well as supporting our girls to achieve superb academic qualifications, central to our vision is preparing our girls with the resilience, adaptability and creativity they will need in their bright futures.
Senior School Academic Programme
Our academic programme is unique and rigorous, designed to unleash potential and passion. Our dedicated teaching and support staff, all of whom are subject-specialists, are passionate about their subjects and model this love of learning daily.
Curriculum
In the first three years, we offer a broad range of subjects including the arts, humanities, computing and PE. From Year 7, Science is taught as individual disciplines – Biology, Chemistry and Physics – and our girls will also learn French and Spanish as part of the normal curriculum, having the option to replace one of these languages with Mandarin or Latin from Year 8.
In Year 9 our curriculum becomes further personalised. Subjects the pupils develop an affinity with can be explored further. Pupils can choose three subjects from Music, Drama, Food and Nutrition, Design Technology, Art and Textiles to spend twice as much time studying as they would in Year 7.
At GCSE level, it is compulsory for our pupils to take English Language, Mathematics and at least one Science. Alongside these, pupils choose a further six option subjects as suits their aspirations and strengths.
Other subjects on offer include: Art, Textiles, Computer Science, Creative iMedia, Drama, English Literature, Food Preparation and Nutrition, Geography, History, Music, PE, Business Studies, Design & Technology, Religious Education, French, Spanish, Latin, Mandarin, Astronomy and Health and Social Care (BTEC).
GCSE Results
We have a long tradition of academic excellence, evidenced by our results in public examinations. In 2025, an outstanding 20% of all RMS GCSE grades were at the top grade 9, four times the national average of 5%. While it is easy to focus on statistics, we understand that these do not tell the full story of our pupils and that success looks different for every individual. We celebrate every pupil’s unique pathway into adulthood and the world of work.
Co-Curricular Excellence: Clubs, Sport, and the Arts
RMS offers a vibrant, well-rounded extracurricular landscape featuring over 120 weekly clubs, extensive international travel, and diverse opportunities in the arts, including high-caliber musical performances and state-of-the-art theatrical productions. Sport is equally central to school life, supported by premium facilities, extensive competitive teams, and the elite Cornerstones Programme, which nurtures high-potential athletes through tailored mentorship, masterclasses, and strength training.
Together, these programs foster leadership, global awareness, and creative courage, encouraging every student to explore their passions and build resilience both inside and outside the classroom.
Pastoral Care
RMS has an exceptional pastoral provision. Our pupils are known, valued and celebrated as individuals. Their aspirations are supported and they are encouraged to make the most of the many opportunities open to them and to have the confidence to push the boundaries of their comfort zone, often surprising themselves as to what they can achieve.
Hind House Sixth Form
While the journey begins in Year 7, the ultimate strength of an RMS education lies in the seamless continuity that carries students all the way through to our Sixth Form.
Staying with a community that already deeply knows their strengths, passions, and ambitions allows students to transition into higher education and young adulthood with unparalleled confidence. Whether their future holds a top-tier university, a competitive degree apprenticeship, or an entrepreneurial path, our Sixth Form provides the tailored mentorship, independence, and robust support network needed to turn long-term aspirations into reality.
